Sip on this warm tea recipe while bringing your body important anticancer and anti-inflammatory nutrients to help along the cancer patient journey.
Anti-Inflammatory Drink Benefits of Turmeric
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties thanks to it’s active compound called curcumin. Curcumin is what gives turmeric it’s golden orange color.
Curcumin is not easily absorbed by the body, so that is another reason we add the black pepper and the coconut butter into this recipe.
Studies have shown curcumin inhibits angiogenesis (blood vessel formation that fuels cancer cells/tumors), induces apoptosis (cancer cell death), and inhibits invasion and metastasis of cancer (PMID: 26254223; 19235267). Those are all good reasons to include turmeric in an anticancer diet.
